MARCEL EVERTS (Hoogeveen, 1983) Lives and works in The Netherlands. Studied Photographic Design at the Fotovakschool in Amsterdam and Human Technology at the Hanze Hogeschool in Groningen.

His main body of work consists of portrait photography. During the last couple of years his work became more and more about people. Portrait photography started to interest him since he was introduced to the works of Richard Avedon and Arnold Newman. Nowadays he is developing his own style. He is inspired by the works of Edward Hopper (painter), Gregory Crewdson (photographer) and Philip-Lorca diCorcia (photographer). Combining the inspiration given by all the mentioned artists, Marcel's using the portraiture style to portray the photographed person or a specific concept.
